Parrots We have been breeding parrots since 1984. Over the years, we have bred many types of parrots on our ranch including: Congo African Greys, Timneh African Greys, Eclectus, Tucuman Amazons, Blue and Gold Macaws, Greenwing Macaws, Ruby Macaws, Military Macaws, Illiger Mini Macaws, Hahns Mini Macaws, Lesser Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Umbrella Cockatoos, Goffins Cockatoos and Moluccan Cockatoos. I've been breeding and raising birds most of my life (pigeons, pheasants, quail, falcons), but Janet has the parrot experience. She was the nursery supervisor for one of the largest parrot breeding facilities in the United States, and has hand raised literally thousands of baby parrots from tiels to macaws. In additon, she has been a contributing author to several research papers and BirdTalk articles and she is sought out worldwide for advice on raising parrots.

Our goal is to offer you the finest parrots, parrot products and parrot information on the web. How do we do that - and what makes this site different than the others? First off we are a small family-run business, and don't want to become some huge unreachable, uncaring company. We just want to offer people some quality products that we have found. Secondly, our reputation means everything to us. We realize that with every contact, with every adoption, our reputation and integrity are "on the line". We take that privilage and responsibility very seriously. Our commitment to you is that we will never adopt out or recommend anything that we would not use ourselves. In fact, the products you see advertized on our website we use with our own birds. We have no goal to offer 1000's or even 100's of items for sale. We only want to advertize the highest quality items that we feel comfortable using with our best friends - the birds!

Here we adopt all of our products and parrots direct to people over the internet, and we never adopt our unweaned babies. Our birds are well socialized with lots of love and attention and make great pets as our references will attest to. We hope you enjoy your visit on our website.

The most important components of most parrots' diets are seeds, nuts, fruit, buds and other plant material, and a few species also eat insects and small animals, and the lories and lorikeets are specialised to feed on nectar from flowers, and soft fruits. Almost all parrots nest in tree holes (or nestboxes in captivity), and lay white eggs from which emerge altricial (helpless) young.

We also occasionally offer parrot breeders for sale when we have an overstock or find that we are producing more babies than we can give the required attention needed to help in the development of each baby.

When the babies are old enough to to go into a cage, depending on the species, they are move to either 2' X 2' or 2 1/2' X 3' cages. The cages are double stacked, with the bowls at the level of the grate so that Macaw babies (17786 bytes)the babies can easily reach them.

Perches are located at a level that the babies can learn to perch without the risk of injury if they should fall off.

The babies learn to walk on wire grates to keep them out of the feces that falls into the removable trays below.

Although, bar spacing is not quite as large as the wrought iron cages that are typically purchased for parrots. The babies are prepared for these cages by the time they are placed in homes.

The African Grey Parrot (Psittacus erithacus) is a medium-sized parrot of the genus Psittacus, endemic to primary and secondary rainforest of West and Central Africa, and is one of the most intelligent birds. They feed primarily on nuts and fruits, supplemented by leafy matter.

Although, we do, at times, have a large number of babies to care for, they are all treated as individuals. Whether we have 12 or 60, each is taken from their brooder, aquarium, or cage, and carried to the kitchen counter to be fed and given their own time.

We pride ourselves in helping each and every baby to develop its potential as an individual, and an affectionate, loving companion.
